Aspian runs your business applications, equips your people to operate them, and provides accountable oversight with controls you can verify.

First we transform the system. Then we keep it running.

Organisations engage Aspian Alliance to rebuild or modernise their systems. They retain us afterwards for the platform those systems run on, the capability of their own team, and our oversight.

The project
Scoped as a piece of work: new systems, migrations, integrations.
The service
Ongoing: platform operations, agreed application operations, training and oversight.
Not included
New features and business-workflow changes. These are scoped separately as change requests.

The service applies under a service agreement, Business edition and above, within the coverage windows we agree with you. The Developer edition is the self-service platform only.

Train, operate, oversee.

Three stages, in this order. Your people take on more as they are ready. We stay accountable throughout.

  1. Train

Your IT team learns to run your applications the Aspian way.

Runbooks, plans, approvals and incident handling, taught on your own applications. Passing our internal competency assessment makes someone an Aspian-authorised operator for specific runbooks.

    • Runbooks written for your applications
    • Hands-on sessions in your environments
    • An assessment record for each person
  2. Operate

Your people run the routine work they are authorised for.

Restarts, scaling, configuration and first triage, within their runbooks and their grants. Until someone is authorised, their write actions wait for an Aspian reviewer.

    • Grants scoped to app, environment and runbook
    • Supervised mode for new operators
    • Every action in the audit trail
  3. Oversee

We watch what we agreed with you, and answer for it.

Aspian monitors the agreed applications and infrastructure, reviews operator actions, and steps in on escalation or when our own alerts fire. Platform reliability is always ours.

    • Monitoring of the agreed scope
    • Review of operator actions
    • A monthly report to your owner

Aspian-authorised operators, one runbook at a time.

Authorisation is specific. Someone may restart production services on Monday and still need a reviewer to restore a database.

  • The assessment is ours and internal. It is not an external certification.
  • New operators work supervised. Their write actions need an Aspian reviewer until they pass.
  • Grants are narrow: one application, one environment, one runbook at a time.
  • Authorisation never bypasses two-person control or your own business approvals.
  • If an authorisation lapses, recovery runbooks stay runnable under supervision.

Nobody gets bounced between app and platform.

The incident has a named lead from the start. When it isn’t clear whose problem it is, it’s ours until it is.

    Aspian

    Escalated, not improvised

On every escalated incident, Aspian leads and keeps your owner informed until responsibility is established, and keeps leading if the cause turns out to be the platform.

Four layers, each with an owner.

We use the same layers in contracts, tickets and reports, so a question about who does what has one answer.

A monthly report your owner can read in five minutes.

It is built from the platform’s records, not written from memory: availability, changes and who approved them, incidents and who led them, what your operators did, and the state of your evidence.

Where something went wrong, the report says so, along with what we did about it.

What your team learns stays with your team.

You should stay because our oversight keeps being worth paying for, not because only our staff understand your processes. If you leave, your exit bundle carries the operating knowledge with it.

Partner services through the group, subject to agreement.

Some needs sit outside software. Through Aspian’s group and associated companies, we can arrange them in the same agreement, each subject to the partner’s confirmation.

Anything a partner provides appears on your Trust Page as Attested by partner, apart from what the platform observes itself.
